СÓÅÊÓƵ was recently recognized as one of 77 universities accepted into the 2020-2021 cohort of First-Gen Forward institutions.

СÓÅÊÓƵ is committed to fostering a learning environment that respects and values the dignity of all persons.

Student Affairs at the University of Tampa educates and empowers students to be global citizens through experiential and varied learning opportunities that reinforce the values of the Spartan Code and enrich the lives of others. We strive to achieve this by:

  • Creating a learning atmosphere that encourages dialogue and supports individual perspectives and value
  • Recognizing and addressing the needs of various student groups
  • Offering programs and services that foster mutual respect and promote student success.

°Õ³ó±ðÌýDean of Students Advisory GroupÌýis a forum for the Dean of Students and other administrators to directly hear from students about their experiences, enabling them to advocate for a learning environment that supports a wide range of viewpoints and respects individual experiences.

The Spartan Community Access Team is an ongoing working group dedicated to ensuring that СÓÅÊÓƵampa consistently works toward creating an environment where all staff, faculty, and students feel supported. This group is composed of divisional leaders who serve as proxies for their respective vice presidents or seniorÌýadministrators. Each member is appointed by their senior administrator and acts as a conduit for accountability, regular reporting, and progress toward divisional objectives within the campus community. Additionally, the team works to develop, communicate, and periodically reassess the institution's strategic plan, and is responsible for providing annual feedback on institutional policies and practices from a cultural perspective to senior leadership.

СÓÅÊÓƵ is an independent and nonsectarian institution; however, religious/spiritual beliefs and practices are highly respected and encouraged. °Õ³ó±ðÌýSykes Chapel and Center for Faith and ValuesÌýis a visual statement of the University of Tampa’s commitment to nurturing the development of character and values of its students. It is an inspiring setting for meditation and celebration of all faiths, enhancing the understanding of diversity, world cultures and religions, and improving religious literacy on campus are central to its mission.

Better Together
Composed of students dedicated to interfaith cooperation on campus and in the greater community. Its purpose is to promote understanding and respect for diverse spiritual and nonspiritual beliefs by means of dialogue, education and advocacy.

Campus Crusade for Christ (CRU)
СÓÅÊÓƵ’s Campus Crusade for Christ exists to provide each and every СÓÅÊÓƵampa student with an environment to investigate God, explore the idea of having a personal relationship with Him, and grow in that relationship.

Chabad СÓÅÊÓƵampa Jewish Student Union
The Chabad Jewish Student Union exists to serve as a social, cultural, religious and educational organization to promote and support Jewish awareness at СÓÅÊÓƵ.

Catholic Student Organization
The Catholic Student Organization's purpose is to bring together and enrich the experience of Catholic students and the student body as a whole by providing an opportunity to enrich our lives through faith, social and community service events.

Intervarsity Christian Fellowship
Intervarsity exists to be a multi-ethnic, Jesus-centered, witnessing community that is desiring to give students at СÓÅÊÓƵampa a chance to grow spiritually and live out the faith.

Success Scholars is a support program forÌýfirst-generation and financially vulnerable college students.

Being first-generation is a proud accomplishment! A strong support system can make a big difference in how students navigate the changes and challenges of the college experience and achieve success at СÓÅÊÓƵampa. We recognize that first-generation students bring valuable assets and encounter unique experiences as they begin this exciting journey, and we look forward to supporting them as they become Spartans.

This program, which evolved from the grant-funded Helios Scholars program, provides social, academic and financial support to assist first-generation students in their adjustment to campus life. Students who opt in to the program will engage in social activities, workshops, academic support sessions, service opportunities and maintain regular contact with peer mentors.Ìý The Success Scholars program is recognized as a First-Gen Forward institution by theÌý Ìý for commitment to advancing first-generation student outcomes.
