Acclaimed for her "superior vocal value" (Boston Globe), "the perfect voice鈥攖errific ease with a silvery clear tone" (American Record Guide), and "piped sweetly鈥 (San Francisco Classical Voice), Soprano Hein Jung has performed internationally. Her credits include engagements with Indianapolis Opera, Milwaukee Symphony, Opera Tampa, The Florida Orchestra, Tanglewood Music Festival, San Francisco Opera Merola Program, Madison Opera, Bucheon Civic Philharmonic and Choir (South Korea), and Lyum Orchestra (South Korea), and InterHarmony Orchestra (Italy).听
Equally beloved on the concert stage, Ms. Jung has given recitals in such prominent series as Carnegie Hall, Royal Conservatory of Music (Sweden), Sarasota Concert Association, Artist Series of Sarasota, University of Wisconsin Madison, University of Florida, University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, Se-Jong Art Hall (South Korea), Kumho Recital Series (South Korea), and American Liszt Society Annual Festivals at North Texas University and California State University at Northridge.听
Ms. Jung is recognized as a versatile performer, delighting audiences with a varied repertoire including Olympia (Tales of Hoffmann), Zerbinetta (Ariadne auf Naxos), Die K枚nigin der Nacht (Die Zauberfl枚te), Blanche (Dialogues des Carm茅lites), Romilda (Serse), Lucia (The Rape of Lucretia), Sophie (Der Rosenkavalier), and Amina (La Sonnambula). On the concert stage, she has been a soloist in Messiah (Handel), The C minor Mass (Mozart), Lord Nelson Mass (Haydn), Gloria (Poulenc), Cantata BWV 51 and 21 (Bach), Bachianas Brasileiras No. 5 (Villa-Lobos), Chants d'Auvergne (Canteloube), and Ch'io mi scordi di te, K. 505 (Mozart). In 2025-2026 season, she will be a featured soprano soloist in Carmina Burana with UW-Madison Symphony Orchestra and Choir, Schubertiad Concert at Howard Performing Arts Center and the role of Queen of the Night with Opera Tampa in their Magic Flute production.听
Praised as an advocate of contemporary music, Ms. Jung has performed lead roles in the world premieres of Rage d'amour, commissioned by Tanglewood, and The Red Silk Thread, commissioned by Curtis Phillips Center for the Performing Arts and The University of Florida Opera Theatre. She also premiered Song Arirang by Zach Browning, who dedicated the chamber piece to her. Recently, the concerto aria for Soprano and Orchestra, Dreams of Seagull, written by renowned Korean composer EunHye Kim, was dedicated to her; its鈥 world premiere was performed at the Lotte Performing Arts Center with the Lyum Philharmonic Orchestra which was broadcast on Arte TV in Seoul, Korea.
Ms. Jung has won top prizes throughout her career, including the Metropolitan Opera National Council鈥擶isconsin District (1st place, People鈥檚 Choice) and Upper Midwest Region (2nd place) Auditions, Irma Cooper International Competition, and Schubert Competition. As an active recording artist, Ms. Jung has published 鈥淪ongs of Franz Liszt鈥 and 鈥淪ongs of Sergei Rachmaninoff鈥 and will be publishing 鈥淪ongs of Schumann and Schubert鈥 with Centaur Records.听
As a passionate vocal educator, Hein Jung serves as Professor of Voice and Director of Vocal Studies and Opera Program at 小优视频, where her students have achieved significant success locally, nationally, and internationally. She has been a guest speaker at the New York State School Music Association conference on "Emergent Voice鈥擧ow to Sing Freely" and the International Congress of Voice Teachers, presenting "Songs of Franz Liszt."
During the summer, Hein Jung serves as Artistic Voice Faculty at InterHarmony International Music Festival in Italy and International Porto Heli Music Festival in Greece.
